Reading Time: The Selection series

Where do I begin? I've been so lost, but the important thing is that I return.
And I've been trying to ge back my reading habits, which had turned away for my lack of time.

Today I bring you my opinion of the serie The Selection, which includes Elite and The One. I think it's a book that makes you live the story, imagine the beautiful dresses and literally feel what America, the protagonist, was living. Honestly I got angry a couple of times and left the book, but my curiosity was bigger. I loved the personality of America and sometimes hated her indecisions, but the reality is that people are like that. The country of Ilea is divided into castes from 1 which is the royal family, through 8, the poorest. America belonged to the caste 5, the artists.

And here I leave the synopsis because this serie definitely worth to be read.
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Reading Time: Sophie's World

Buenas noches/Good Night
Too much time without posting, reason: Panamanian Carnival, plus I've been in a place where there wasn't even signal for calling. Anyway ... back to the subject, today I decided to do a reading time of:

El Mundo de Sofia/ Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder

As you know, I do not want to spoil the book, so here I leave you the synopsis:
A page-turning novel that is also an exploration of the great philosophical concepts of Western thought, Sophie’s World has fired the imagination of readers all over the world, with more than twenty million copies in print.
One day fourteen-year-old Sophie Amundsen comes home from school to find in her mailbox two notes, with one question on each: “Who are you?” and “Where does the world come from?” From that irresistible beginning, Sophie becomes obsessed with questions that take her far beyond what she knows of her Norwegian village. Through those letters, she enrolls in a kind of correspondence course, covering Socrates to Sartre, with a mysterious philosopher, while receiving letters addressed to another girl. Who is Hilde? And why does her mail keep turning up? To unravel this riddle, Sophie must use the philosophy she is learning—but the truth turns out to be far more complicated than she could have imagined

Jostein Gaarder

{Seré sincera con ustedes, esta obra ha sido la merecedora del amor que le tengo a la filosofía y Grecia, razón por la que muero por ir a Grecia, además me hizo tomarle un cariño muy especial a la Historia. Y por todas estas razones, siempre la llevare en mi corazón/ I'll be honest with you, this book has been the worthy of the love I have for philosophy and Greece, for this reason, I'm dying to go to Greece, It make me also take a very special affection for history. And for all these reasons, I always take this amazing book in my heart}

Reading Time: Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Today's book which I want to share with you:

Hija de Humo y Hueso / Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
As always to not spoiled anything... Here I leave the synopsis:
Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real, she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands", she speaks many languages - not all of them human - and her bright blue hairactually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.
When beautiful, haunted Akiva fixes fiery eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?
